Aiden may only be 5 years old, but he has the heart of an old man. Before going to school he told me that he was going to marry Noelle. Noelle is a girl in his class at school and she is also in our ward. He told me that "it was difficult" because Dominick wanted to marry Noelle too. I just laughed it off and thought it was really cute.
When he got home from school I asked him if he married Noelle at recess, and he rolled his eyes at me and said "No mom, we can't get married until we are older!," as if I had no clue that people got married when they got older. I said, "oh, ok" and left it at that.
Yet one day his dreams came crashing down... He came home from school one day, terribly sad, and when I asked him about it he said that he found out that other boys liked Noelle and that she might pick one of them to marry instead of him! He was crushed! I gave him a hug, and told him that it was okay. Noelle would only marry someone that goes on a mission, so he needed to make sure to go on a mission so she would marry him.
That made him much happier, and he said "Oh, yeah mom I am going on a mission and all the other boys aren't so she will marry me."
For Valentines Day he insisted that he needed to give Noelle a Carnation Gram at school. So he did.

He then made a few comments over the next couple weeks at the dinner table or playing about it. One night when eating he said "Mom this food is so good... when I grow up Noelle is going to help me make food like this!" or when I asked him about liking another girl in our ward he said "no, I love Noelle" and that "she was much more beautiful than anyone."
