Aiden's 6th Birthday!

Aiden had his 6th birthday on the 18th. We can hardly believe our little boy is already that old! He has been so excited for his birthday. He counted down the days by marking them off the calendar. He made sure everyone knew how many days were left until the big day.

After waking up on his special day Aiden talked to Ryan and said, holding his hands up and looking at himself, "I still look 5, Daddy?". He thought after turning 6 he would be bigger and not fit into his 5 year old clothes anymore.
Ryan had to work on Aiden's birthday so we let him open his present from Erik and one from us before Ryan left for work. That way they could play with them throughout the day. Erik got him a Croquet game and we got him a Monster Truck game for the Wii.
They usually just hit each other with the sticks.
We went to Peter Piper Pizza for lunch. This year we decided to just have a family party and not have friends. Ryan met us at Peter Piper Pizza for the lunch buffet, the kids played and had a great time.

Aiden really wanted a Mario Cake for his birthday. I had never made a fancy cake before, but my little boy was worth the effort and if it flopped he would still love me. I think it turned out pretty good. Though it did take me all afternoon to decorate it.

Aiden was excited to open the present that Papa and Grandma had sent him in the mail. We read the book as soon as we opened it. The book is called "Mom says I can." Needless to say I was crying by the end of the book.


Ryan used to read these books when he was a kid.
We finished off the night by playing a few video games as a family and opening presents. Aiden also got a Watch, a Mario game, and two "Nate the Great" books!
