Christmas Day

I am so blessed! I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for blessing me with a handsome and wonderful husband who cares for me. I am grateful for each of my four children even though there are times that are difficult to be a mother and I am constantly wondering if I am teaching them correctly. I am thankful I have been entrusted to their care. I pray that I can be the mother they deserve. I hope they always know and will always remember and be example of what Christmas is truly about.
Our Savior Jesus Christ left his home with our Heavenly Father and Mother to come to this earth to be loved and hated. He was spat upon and beaten. He descended below all that he could overcome all. It is because of his humble birth and life that we can have eternal life and families. He loves each of us so much that he sacrificed even his own self for each of us.
At Christmas time it seems a little easier to remember others and do those things that our Savior did. All over the world there is more kindness and generosity because of Christmas which is yet another gift our Heavenly Father has given to us.
This year we wanted to start a new tradition in our family. We decided that we would make the gifts that would be given to one another.  Ryan and I hoped that with doing this they would put more thought and effort into what they give each other and even sacrifice a little bit. They each selected what they would make for each other. p
Erik, Ani, and Emmitt made Aiden a Lego case with a top that he could play on and a carrier to hold legos for on the go. Erik took the time to piece together legos into things Aiden would be able to make. including little men.
Aiden, Ani, and Emmitt made Erik block puzzles. They picked and colored six different pictures. Sanded blocks and then together we mod podged the pieces onto the blocks. Each side of the block is a different puzzle. Aiden selected pictures he knew Erik would like such as Batman, Pikachu, and Monster Trucks.
Aiden, Erik, and Emmitt made Ani a Princess tent for her room. Using a very large sheet, sheer curtains, and a hula hoop they sewed (by hand) the pieces together. Ani as well as anyone who visits thinks it is awesome.
Aiden, Erik, and Ani made Emmitt a large car mat. Ryan and I helped draw a town (looks a lot like Eureka) onto the canvas and then the kids colored and finished it. We also made one for Canyon because we thought he would really enjoy it as well. All the kids are entertained and will drive around on the Eureka Map.
The Kids then made Ryan and Me new Mate mugs with messages on them.
It was really neat to see the kids work and be excited about the things they were making for one another. I am excited that they were able to think of each other more and the things they would enjoy. I love my family and hope that each Christmas can be magical and full of love.
I am happy that Grandpa Rick, Michi, and Christopher were able to join us for Christmas Eve night and Christmas Morning and that we are able to have so many loved ones so near. I am also grateful for technology that aloud us to see and talk with Grandma Susy and Nona who were far away in Argentina.
