The Gila Valley Arizona Temple

Our new temple is complete! The Gila Valley Arizona Temple is located in Central Arizona about 2 hours away from us. We had the opportunity yesterday to attend the open house. Ryan and I served as ushers for the open house. We went a few hours early to give our kids the chance to go through the temple with us. Aiden and Erik still can't stop saying "oh the temple is so beautiful!" and asking if it is the temple we got married in. They carry their picture of the temple all over the house with them. I was surprised at how well they did being reverent. We were surprised that the temple was so small. There are only 36 seats in the "instruction room." It was really a great experience, not only to serve as ushers, but to take the kids inside and feel the spirit. Standing in the celestial room with our children was amazing!

Aiden, Erik, and Analeigh on the front gardens of the temple.

Getting a picture of all of us was difficult especially with the wind blowing like it was.

Our beautiful children.

They have a new ward house right next to the temple. They had the cultural hall set up beautifully with many different pictures of Christ and temples. Aiden and Erik begged to have their picture taken with Jesus.

There was a large field of grass next to the temple that the kids loved playing on while we waited for Ryan do get the car.

Here they are rolling down the "hill" that is really so small that you can't see it. They thought it was great.

Hey Summer! I found your blog through Candice's, so nice to see your cute little family! Your kids are adorable. How exciting a new temple! We are getting one in Payson that I am so excited for!
Anyway, good to "see" you :-) Maybe we can be more in touch this way!
