Christmas Day

Christmas morning has finally arrived. All the kids have been so excited. Christopher and Michi came up and stayed the night Christmas Eve and spent the morning with us. We started a new tradition this year with a simple little nativity set. Before opening presents we open stockings and within each stocking wa a piece to our nativity. Each person takes turns explaining their Nativity piece and their role in Christ's birth. By the time we are all done with the pieces the story of Christ's birth has been told. This tradition allows us to still remember the true meaning of Christmas. It's our way of remembering to thank our Heavenly Father for all we have before the onslaught of wrapping paper and gifts.

A happy Erik after opening presents.

There was quite a bit of chaos due to it being Sunday morning and us needing to get to church. Plus little Emmitto was sick. He seemed happy enough but he was fevered and could hardly breath due to the mucus. Michi and Christopher where so sweet to stay with him while we went to church since the primary was singing in sacrament and we couldn't miss it.

After church we went over to Papa's house (surprise). With Emmitt being sick we didn't want him around little Jace who wasn't even 2 months old so Ryan stayed at the house with him until Josh and Jeanene had to leave. It was sad and I didn't like it but it was good to be able to hang out with my brother before he had to go.

Analeigh seriously thought all presents were hers. She loved opening anything we would let her get her hands on.

We also celebrated Little Gordon, Becca, and Chandlers birthdays on Christmas since we were all together and they were all born within a week of Christmas.

I feel so blessed!  Especially at this time that Ryan has been able to work from home. When he is not traveling around the country doing trainings he is able to work from home and it's wonderful. I wish it could last forever but I know that it can't. Who knows what the future holds but for now I am just going to be grateful for my blessings. I have a wonderful family that can be all together to celebrate my Savior and his birth.  Whatever may come in this life I know it will be bearable, I just need to have faith.  Merry Christmas everyone!
