I don't know why exactly we have a dog. Terrible things have always happened to them. For anyone who hasn't heard about Rocky, he started having horrible seizures (8 within a 24 hour period). We took him to the vet but they didn't know what was causing them. They gave him a medicine that made him loopy and crazy. Then we came home one night and he was gone. That is the last we saw Rocky. This happened about a couple months ago.
Yesterday Wally was being a good dog, minding his own business on the front porch when the next door neighbor's dog broke through the fence that separates our property and attacked him. He was bleeding like crazy. I opened the door when I heard a yelp and Wally ran in squirting blood everywhere. All of my living room floor, down the hall and the mud room were COVERED! There was so much blood! I had to hold pressure on his chest/neck while calling Ryan who rushed home. Ryan called Animal Control on his way home to help get rid of the neighbors dog. Poor Emmitt crawled through some of the mess:( There was so much blood!
We took Wally to the vet where they told us Wally's right jugular vein was completely severed. They did surgery and tied it off on both ends leaving him only one jugular to do all the work. CRAZY!!!
He is home now recovering. I really didn't think he was going to survive. There was so much blood. We are still trying to get it out of the carpet. All I can say is Hydrogen Peroxide works wonders (thanks Josh)!
On a lighter note, Valentines day was good considering. Aiden had a party at school, Erik delivered little valentines to his friends and Ani enjoyed eating their candy:) Ry and I enjoyed a night of watching Chuck and cleaning up. Hopefully our anniversary goes better! There was so much blood!
