We decided to remove our Propane (Pretty) Fireplace in our living room and put in a wood burning stove. Propane is extremely expensive in Eureka in the winter, plus we want to have a way to heat our home in the event that there is no propane or electricity. Papa has been our consultant through the process and has also been the one to do the majority of the work putting in the stove pipe. It has been a little difficult since we put the majority of the pipe up through the wall. We also have an extremely steep and high roof that I worried so much that Papa would fall off. Ryan and him tied a rope to each other and Ryan stayed on one side of the roof while Papa was on the other, hoping that if one of them were to fall the other would just have to lay down. Luckily neither of them ever fell so we didn't have to try their theory out.
Oh...we also got chickens and a rooster (the rooster won't be staying).
